After three years in general practice, Dr. Siva began practicing referral surgery in 1994. He has worked as a surgeon and educator in multiple institutions, including the Universities of Melbourne and Queensland, Murdoch University, Colorado State University (CSU), and numerous private practices including the Animal Medical Center and New York City Veterinary Specialists. He has lectured in the United States and internationally, and he has also authored multiple journal articles and a textbook chapter. Additionally, Dr. Siva is a reviewer for several journals.

Outside of work, Ram enjoys spending time with his wife Renata, daughter Kira and cat Snow. He enjoys good company, good food and wine, and is learning the clarinet and Spanish. He also dabbles in card magic.
