Dear Dr. Haddock,
It has only been a couple of months since my new owner dropped by the shelter and scooped me up (ok, I'm a little big for that) and I can only say that things are getting off to a great start.
Sure they treated me well at the shelter and I had plenty of friends there, but it can't compare to my new 1 bedroom walk-up. Actually, I found out there is an elevator but my owner still likes to take the stairs. Must be a workout freak or something? I mean don't we get enough exercise running around Tompkins Square Park every afternoon. He is a very cool owner though; he even lets me stay up late and watch Seinfeld reruns.
And not only does he have great taste in dogs, but in vets too. I never thought I'd let anyone clean my ears, but it's really not so bad. It is actually rather fun (alright I'm getting a little carried away).
As you know, I was born with a lowered immune system, something that was passed on to me at birth, and it caused me to be susceptible to skin infections in my earlier days (I know I'm only 7 months old, but a mature 7 months). But with the new diet you recommended, some vitamins, and a little TLC, I think I will be fine. Either way I know I have a great Vet to turn to, and an owner who will do anything for me.
Hmmmmaybe I should take advantage and ask for more treats.
Anyway, thanks again for taking such good care of me. And thanks for the privilege of being "Pet of the Month"; I promise not to let it go to my head.
Enzo
